Aquabar

London Gatwick Airport, UK 2003

hero-image

This piece in the departure lounge of Gatwick Airport North Terminal, comprised three transparent vessels of different diameters, where water was rising and falling in programmed cycles. As the water was rising an air-core vortex formed in each vessel and water finally overflowed the perimeter edge to ripple down the vertical sides. Dismantled when the space was refurbished.
